Coppery orange and subtly sweet with a woodsy astringency.  When you think of a black tea blend, you’re probably thinking of English Breakfast, a classic blend of Ceylon, Kenyan black tea, and Indian black tea. Each tea in this blend is produced in the orthodox method – wholly or partially processed by hand to preserve as much of the whole leaf as possible. The blend is flowery pekoe grade, referring to the delicate hairs on the underside of high-quality tea leaf (“pekoe”), and the presence of small leaf buds in the tea. 

The English Breakfast blend is one of the many byproducts of Britain’s love affair with tea. That uneasy history resulted in the expansion of tea production into India and around the globe, including the far-flung trio represented in this blend.

Brisk, slightly dry, and fantastic with milk and sugar, the English Breakfast tea is the perfect companion to a book and a rainy afternoon.
